Kangaroo Island must be the country’s best kept destination secret. We didn’t know what to expect but we were greeted by friendly people, a lovely house rental and the main reason for the trip, the wildlife. There are kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, seals, sea lions, dolphins, pelicans and over 40 species of other birds. Things are now pretty much back to normal after the devastating bushfires and visitors are more welcome than ever. There’s wheelchair-friendly accommodation and boardwalks.
