My Australia 05

Today on My Australia, I recall my first ever plane ride and thank Gilmore Tilmen Schjeldahl for inventing the air-sickness bag.

Another eventful plane ride I had was in a Jumbo 747. I was in an aisle seat and an Arabic passenger in flowing robes and headdress knelt next to me and did the traditional bow to face Mecca. I admired his sense of direction. He then produced a string bag full of goat meat and a portable gas stove and lit it. Instinct took over and I covered the flames with a blanket and called for help. Call me silly, but it didn’t seem the right way to prepare airline food!
